These days are for children ages 3 years and up.  Come join us for gymnastics, trampoline, and fun and games. We also have our BOUNCY CASTLE up and running! The camps run from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm with extended hours available (before and after…must be arranged prior to Pro-D Day).

2016 Garden City Invitational Results

The Surrey Gymnastic Society Girls’ Program attended their last competitive event of the season over the May long weekend.  The competition was the Garden City Invitational, hosted by the Falcon Gymnastics Club in Victoria.  Here are the highlights:

 

Junior Olympic 8

12-year-old, North Delta resident, Maria Bashko won the All Around crown winning the Vault and Beam competitions, as well.  Bronze medals on Bars and Floor rounded out Bashko’s medal haul.

 

JO 7 (1998-2002)

18-year-old, Langley resident, RayAnne Quinn captured the 5ht place awards on both Beam and Floor, on her way to 7th All Around.

 

JO 6 (2004-2005)

12-year-old, Mackenzie Long placed 3rd in the All Around competition.  En route Long also won gold on Beam, 4th on Bars and Floor and

6th on Vault.

 

JO 6 (2003-2004)

12-year-old, Uliana Grichkovskaia placed 4th All Around, 3rd on Vault and 4th on Bars.

 

JO 6 (2005-2008)

8-year-old, South Surrey resident, Viktoria Duchesne captured the Gold All Around medal, with another gold on Bars, silver on Beam and Floor and Bronze on Vault.  11-year-old, North Delta resident, Alice Bashko was 4th All Around, 2nd on Floor (tied with Duchesne),  5th on Bars and Beam and 6th on Vault.  11-year-old, Surrey resident, Anna Polunocheva placed 5th All Around, 3rd on Bars, 4th on Beam and 5th on Vault.  10-year-old Maya Wilson placed 6th All Around, 4th on Vault and 6th on Floor.

 

JO 4 (2005-2006)

10-year-old, North Delta resident, Melissa Piliotis placed 6th on Bars.

 

JO 3 (2003-2005)

11-year-old, Chloe Dickson won the silver medal on Beam.

Western Championships 2016 Results

botw2016Four Surrey Gymnastic Society athletes took part as members of Team BC in this annual Championships event.

Provincial 5 – Treyson Cerrato capped off a successful season with another set of great achievements.  Cerrato (14-year-old South Surrey resident) took the silver medal in the All Around competition on Friday evening with a personal best score of 73.15 and qualified for 5 of 6 Event Finals.  The first day of competition was also the Team event where Cerrato was a member of the gold medal team.  On Saturday during the Apparatus Finals, Cerrato captured three gold medals winning Rings, Parallel Bars and High Bar.  He also took the silver medal on Pommel Horse and the Bronze medal on Vault.  Achieving a top 3 podium finish in all 5 of his finals is an amazing accomplishment.

Provincial 4 – Muzzammil Taziz (13-year-old Port Moody resident) placed 9th All Around, and qualified 2nd into the Pommel Horse Apparatus Finals on Saturday.  In the Finals, Taziz won the gold medal on Pommel Horse. Taziz was a member of the silver medal winning Provincial 4 Team.

Elite 4 – Emanuel Gutierrez Sandoval competed in a three-day competition.  The first day has 2 physical testing components (one testing strength and the other flexibility).  On Day 1 he placed 7th.  Day 2 and 3 are combined for Apparatus results where the gymnasts show both compulsory and optional routines.  Guttierrez Sandoval won the silver medal on Parallel Bars and Bronze on Vault.  He placed 5th on Floor and High Bar and 6th on Pommel Horse and Rings.

Elite 3 – Finally, Carter Baker (11-year-old, Langley resident) placed 13th All Around, winning the silver medal on Floor during his competition.  He was also a member of the Gold medal winning BC Team for his category.

Provincial 3 (under 13) – Luke Van Harmelen (12-year-old, Langley resident) was the All Around Champion in this category.  En route he won gold on Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar and placed 2nd on Floor, 3rd on Rings and 4th on Pommel Horse.  Teammate, Timofey Azhogin (13-year-old, Surrey resident) followed Van Harmelen winning the silver medal in the All Around competition.  He won gold on Floor and Rings, placed 2nd on Pommel Horse and Vault and placed 4th on Parallel Bars.

Girls’

Junior Olympic (JO) 8 – Junior division – Maria Bashko (12-year-old North Delta resident) took home the silver All Around medal after a great day in the gym winning gold on Floor, silver on Vault and Bars and 5th on Beam.  Teammate, Alexa Cannon (14-year-old South Surrey resident) placed 4th on Vault.

JO 7 – Senior division – RayAnne Quinn (18-year-old Langley resident) placed 6th on Bars and Floor

JO 7 – Junior division – Eva Woodward (14-year-old North Delta resident) placed 5th on Vault and 6th on Beam.

JO 6 – Junior division – Uliana Grichkovskaia (12-year-old Surrey resident) was 4th All Around while placing 1st on Bars, 4th on Vault and Floor and 6th on Beam.  Teammate, Mackenzie Long (11-year-old Surrey resident) placed 6th All Around, 5th on Bars and 6th on Floor.

JO 3 – Senior division – Talya Jalbert (11-year-old Surrey resident) won the All Around gold medal with gold medal performances on Vault and Floor, silver on Bars and bronze on Beam.  In the same category, Chloe Dickson (11-year-old Surrey resident) placed 3rd All Around, gold on Beam, 5th on both Vault and Bars and 6th on Floor.  Also, Maren Paterson (10-year-old Surrey resident) won gold on Bars and placed 4th on Beam.

JO 3 – Junior division – Melissa Piliotis (10-year-old North Delta resident) won the gold All Around medal with gold medal performances on Vault, Bars and Beam and silver on Floor.  Teammate, Maya Wilson (10-year-old Surrey resident) made it a 1-2 punch winning the silver All Around medal.  Wilson also won gold on Floor, silver on Bars and bronze on Vault.

JO3 – Child division – Hannah Mahon (8-year-old Cloverdale resident) took another All Around gold medal for SGS.  Mahon won gold on Vault and Beam and silver on Bars and Floor.  Madelyn Cavasin (8-year-old Surrey resident) took home the Bronze All Around medal with bronze medal performances on both Vault and Bars and placed 6th on Beam.

2016 BC Championships Results

Great news from the weekend of April 15-17, as three boys from the Surrey Gymnastic Society sweep the most competitive category at the BC Championships!

 

Here are the Club’s great highlights:

BOYS’ RESULTS

Elite 4

Emanuel Gutierrez Sandoval (12-year-old Surrey resident) placed 5th All Around with a silver medal on Vault, placing 4th on Floor and Rings, 5th on High Bar and 6th on Pommel Horse and Parallel Bars.

 

Provincial 5

Treyson Cerrato (14-year-old South Surrey resident) was crowned Provincial All Around Champion for the fourth consecutive year in three different categories.  This year Cerrato won gold medals on Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar to go along with his All Around gold.  He also placed 3rd on Pommel Horse and 4th on Floor.

 

Provincial 4

Muzzammil Taziz (13-year-old Port Moody resident and recently a new member of Surrey Gymnastics) placed 3rd All Around in the 13 years and older division, winning gold on Pommel Horse, bronze on High Bar and 6th on Floor.

 

Provincial 3 U13

Luke Van Harmelen (12-year-old Langley resident) started the sweep of the podium in this category by winning the All Around gold medal.  En route, Van Harmelen won gold on Rings, Parallel Bars and High Bar, tied for silver on Pommel Horse, 4th on Vault and placed 5th on Floor.  Team mate, Brady Reeleder (12-year-old Surrey resident) took the Silver All Around medal just 0.20 points behind Van Harmelen.  Reeleder won gold on Pommel Horse silver on Parallel Bars, bronze on Floor, 4th on both Rings and Vault (tied with Van Harmelen) and 5th on High Bar.  Completing the AA podium sweep was team mate Timofey Azhogin (13-year-old Surrey resident) who won the All Around Bronze medal, with silver medal wins on Floor and Pommel Horse (tied with Van Harmelen), bronze medal on Rings and placing 4th on Parallel Bars.  This category had the largest field of the weekend for the boys categories with 30 competitors.

 

Provincial 2

Reggie Quintana (11-year-old South Surrey resident) placed 5th All Around, winning a bronze medal on High Bar, placing 5th on Rings and 6th on Floor.

 

GIRLS’ RESULTS

 

Junior Olympic 8 (2004-2005)

Maria Bashko (12-year-old North Delta resident) placed 7th All Around winning the bronze medal on Floor, 4th on Beam and 6th on Vault.

 

JO 7 (2002)

Eva Woodward (14-year-old North Delta resident) placed 5th All Around with consistent result events placing 6th on Vault and Floor and being in the top 10 on Bars and Beam.

 

JO 6 (2005)

Anna Polunocheva (11-year-old Surrey resident) placed 4th on Bars.

 

JO 6 (2004 01-06)

Uliana Grichkovskaia (12-year-old Surrey resident) placed 7th All Around, winning the silver medal on Bars and 6th on Vault.

 

JO 6 (2004 07-12)

Mackenzie Long (12-year-old North Delta resident) won the bronze medal on Bars.

 

JO 5 (2006-2008)

Eight-year-old, South Surrey resident, Viktoria Duchesne won the gold medal on Bars and finished 7th All Around.  This too was a very large division with 30 competitors taking part.

Zone 3 Championships Results

This past weekend, April 2+3, many of the SGS Girls’ team took part at the Zone 3 Championships (Surrey to Hope and Coquitlam to Hope).

 

Here are our club’s highlights:

 

  • In the JO3 late 2007-2009 category, eight-year-old Hannah Mahon took home the Bronze All Around medal.  Mahon placed 3rd on Beam, 4th on Bars and 5th on Vault to get to the great AA ranking.

 

  • In the JO3 2003-early 2006 category, ten-year-old Talya Jalbert took home the AA Gold medal with golden performances on Bars and Floor and winning silver medals on Vault and Beam.  In the same category, 11-year-old Chloe Dickson placed 5th AA; winning gold on Beam, and placing 6th on Floor.

 

  • In the JO3 late 2006-early 2007 category, 10-year-old Maya Wilson took Silver All Around, winning gold on Beam and Floor and bronze on Bars.  In the same category, ten-year-old Melissa Piliotisplaced 7th All Around, winning the bronze medal on Floor.

 

  • In the JO7 1998-2002 category, 14-year-old Eva Woodward placed 6th on Vault.

 

  • In the JO8 2003-2005 category, 12-year-old Maria Bashko placed 4th on Floor, while 14-year-old Alexis Cannon placed 5th on Vault in the JO8 1999-2002 category.
