Canadian Gym Week in BC!

Gymnastics BC is excited to participate in Canadian Gymnastics Week on February 12-18, 2017! We have joined forces with Gymnastics Canada to bring you contests with incredible prizes in celebration of our sport!

Here’s an overview of what’s happening in BC for gymnastics week:

1. GYMNASTICS BC COLOURING CONTEST

Celebrate Canadian Gymnastics Week at your club by entering Gymnastics BC’s annual colouring contest! This year, we’re giving away 4 prizes per club—so don’t miss out on your chance to win!

HOW TO ENTER:

  1. Host a colouring contest within your club using the official Gymnastics BC colouring sheet (download the colouring sheet here).
  2. Your club must select 4 winners (one winner per age category). Gymnastics BC will not be accepting individual colouring contest submissions—all winners must be selected by your club.
  3. Your club must send the full names and mailing addresses of your colouring contest winners to: communications@gymbc.org no later than Monday, February 20 at 12:00 p.m.
  4. Gymnastics BC will mail each winner an exclusive Gymnastics BC backpack!

The colouring contest ends on Monday, February 20, 2017.

ATTENTION CLUBS: winners for the colouring contest must be submitted to communications@gymbc.org by Monday, February 20, 2017 at 12:00 p.m.

2. GYMNASTICS CANADA PHOTO CONTEST

Show us your moves using #CDNGymWeekContest and you could win tickets to cheer on Canada at the 2017 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, QC this October! Learn more.

HOW TO ENTER:

  1. Take a photo or short video showcasing a fundamental movement pattern during Canadian Gymnastics Week (find the full list of movements on the photo contest calendar).
  2. Post it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using #CDNGymWeekContest
  3. Tag Gymnastics BC in your photo as we will be issuing prizes exclusively for GBC members!
  4. Visit the Gymnastics Canada Facebook page to vote, and share to get more votes! You can vote once per day per device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.)
  5. The entry with the most votes WINS tickets to cheer on Canada at the 2017 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, QC!

Winter break training schedule

The School Winter Break is fast approaching.  I have prepared a schedule for you for break time.

Some of the coaches have asked for some time changes on some days, so please be sure to look at the schedule for your child’s group(s).

If you have any concerns with the schedule please speak with your coach directly.

Surrey Invitationals 2017

The Surrey Gymnastic Society would like to cordially invite you to attend our club’s annual competition. We promise that it will be a memorable one for all participants.

DATES: MARCH 3 – 5, 2017

LOCATION: Guildford Recreation Center (on 105th Avenue and 152nd Street). Beside the expanded Guildford Mall and only one block from the hotels.

This weekend of gymnastics activity will be one to remember. Gymnastics BC has awarded this competition to be used as the Men’s TEAM BC 1st Trials to Canadian Championships. This means BC’s brightest young male stars will be in attendance. Also, BC Zones 3 + 4 will be using this event as their team selection for JO 5 + 6 to attend the 2017 BC Championships.

We would also like to invite you to bring your Interclub athletes to our event for the 4 th year.

Order form became available with all the gift cards that are available to SGS for your Christmas shopping convenience.  There are many more options on the form than what we ordinarily stock here in the office.  Please take a look through the list and think about everyone on your Christmas list!

GBC Richard Ikeda National Stream Athlete of the Year for 2016
