Xcel
The SGS Xcel program was created for girls who were looking for more than just a weekly recreational gymnastics class. These girls have mastered basic gymnastic skills, have a positive attitude, and show a love for the sport of gymnastics. This program provides opportunities to athletes that allow them to be part of a team, learn routines, and showcase what they have learned through individual performances. The Xcel program allows athletes to continue to work on their skill development and to perform in meets for athletes of all skill levels throughout the Lower Mainland. Class time is spent working on skills to be placed into routines, the learning and perfecting of such routines, and the performance of those routines.
This program is a 12-month commitment (Sept – Aug)
The summer holidays are fast approaching and so it is time to sign up for summer training. The recommendation from the coaching staff is that your daughter attends a minimum of 4 weeks (or at least be in the gym when you are not out of town). The more training your daughter does through the summer the better for her gymnastics development.
Why should your daughter train during the summer months? (I can think of three good reasons):
1) to maintain or improve their gymnastic-specific strength and flexibility,
2) to learn some new skills,
3) to give them a place to burn off some of that summer energy and get them out of your hair.
