Christy Fraser Memorial Results

Thirty gymnasts (7 boys, 23 girls) competed  – they all have qualified themselves for Provincial Championship!!!
 
This past weekend saw the start of the Provincial competition season for the Surrey Gymnastic Society’s young stars.  Here are the SGS highlights from the 2019 Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational hosted by the Langley Gymnastics Foundation at the Langley Events Centre.
 

Boys Results

15 year old Luke Van Harmelen started the season off with a bang winning the All Around gold medal in Provincial 5 category.  En route to the victory he won gold on Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars and High Bar, silver on Rings, Vault and bronze on Floor.
 
 
11-year old Yeshen Mootoosamy placed 2nd in the All Around competition in Provincial 2 category. He captured the gold medal on Floor, silver medal on Pommel Horse.
 
 
Teammate, same age Paul Bashko placed 3rd in the All Around and 2nd on Floor.
 
 
Jay Mehta  finished 1st place on Vault in this category.
 
 
Young boys competed very well in Level 1 category. The youngest gymnast, Malakai Ostrosser (8 years old) won the All Around gold medal, finished 1st on Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars and 2nd on Rings.
 
In the same group, Colton Bellec made 3rd place on Rings and Parallel Bars. He finished 4th place All Around.
 

Girls Results

JO8 – In the Junior Olympic level 8 category – 13 year old, Alice Bashko won silver on Beam, to place 5th  in the All Around competition.
 
 
JO7 – In the JO7 category for 2003, Erin Harvey won gold medal on Vault, 3rd  on Uneven Bars.
In the same category, but younger age group – 10 year old Hannah Mahon placed 7th All Around, 4th on Vault.
 
 
JO6 – In the JO6 category – 12 year old Melissa Piliotis finished 4th place All Around, winning the gold medal on Beam.
 
 
JO4 –  In the JO4 category – 9 year old Isabeau Isaacson won All Around gold, placing 1st on Beam and Floor, 2nd on Vault. In same category, but in younger age group Sofia Villamil finished 1st All Around and she captured 3 gold medals on Uneven Bars, Beam, Floor, bronze on Vault. Her teammates – in same age group – Adriana Garbe won the All Around silver medal and finished 2nd places on Beam, Floor, 3rd on Uneven Bars. Sanne-Lise Garbe placed 2nd on Uneven Bars, 3rd on Floor. Layla Omar-Ali finished 2nd on Beam. Kiana Carter was placed 6th on Uneven Bars.
 
 
Emilyna Keo was the most efficient gymnast, she made the highest score in JO4 category. Emilyna finished 1st All Around and she’s got three more gold medals – on Uneven Bars, Beam, Floor – and silver on vault.
 
 
JO2 – 12 girls competed in the Junior Olympic level 2 category. For eight girls, this was the first competition of their life. Carrie Ma placed 2nd on Beam. Chloe Ostrosser won silver medal on Vault, bronze on Uneven Bars, placing 4th All Around with her teammate – with Gianna Brown. Japjit Dhanoa won two bronze medals – on Beam and Floor.
Megan Ma won All Around bronze and placed 2nd on Floor.
 
Harsimran Rakhra introduced amazing routines and captured 3 gold, 2 silver medals – 1st All Around, 1st Vault, 1st Uneven Bars, 2nd Beam, 2nd Floor.
